Sports & nature
Transfăgărășan is the star of our area. It connects the Romanian Country of Transylvania since 1974. Its famous serpentines rise up to 2,000 meters, altitude at which the clouds often descend. The nature is wonderful, but wonderful here was the craftsmanship of man: the road has more tunnels and viaducts than any other road in Romania. The final point of the trip is Bâlea Lac. Do not be surprised at all if on the road, in short rainy summer days, you will see the rainbow in the rocks.
Lacul Bâlea it is nestled at over 2,000 meters in the mountain and it can be reached from the Bâlea Cascada cabin, in the cold season, with the cable car. It is the most popular lake of Făgăraș, especially since here you find winter and an ice hotel. For the more adventurous, above the mountain is another glacial lake: Capra. It has a depth of 11 meters, is an unforgettable blue and is surrounded by sharp peaks. And Lake Podagru attracts curious people, especially since it is known that trout swim in its waters. It's a small water eye in a valley, created by melting a glacier and now powered by mountain springs.
Cascada Bâlea falls on the rock 60 meters. Upstairs, it's just a sliver of water, which multiplies as it lays on the rock. You can also admire her from the cable car, going to the lake, and from her feet.
Culture and history info
Palatul Brukental from Avrig is a Viennese air story. In summer you can enjoy the landscaped landscaping of landscaped gardens just like those of the Austrian palaces. A sliver of water passes through the secular trees, the grass has small bumps separating different vegetation areas. Travelers can stop in the Domain Orange, now renovated, for a stylish meal or at least a glass of lemonade.
Mănăstirea Brâncoveanu from Sâmbăta de Sus is the place where the silence is heard. It is surrounded by fir forests and over it watches the spirit of the great spiritual Teofil Părăian. "The monastery is the heaven's tent", said the poet poetically about the place where he spent much of his life.
Muzeul Sătesc „Badea Cârţan” it's right in the village with us, in Cârțișoara. From here he left for the most original and daring Romanian traveler: Gheorghe Cârțan the peasant. He arrived, dressed in his popular costume, as far as Rome, at Trajan's Column. He saw Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and ventured to Jerusalem. He has delivered hundreds of thousands of Romanian books from the Romanian Countries to Austro-Hungarian Transylvania, for the benefit of the students and teachers here. In his worship museum you will see it in pictures, with the sum on his shoulders and with his spine drain, ready to discover how beautiful the world we live in is.
Mănăstirea Cârța It is a journey back in time to 1202. A romantic ruin, with corrugated walls and an impressive tower are testimony that here was a Cistercian abbey. Beside the testimonies of the Middle Ages there is a more recent chapel, where the evangelical community in the area still holds services.
